Langfelder Calls On Community To Get Involved In Effort To Combat Violence

Mayor Jim Langfelder says police are doing all they can do to combat the tide of violence in Springfield… and says it’s up to the community to step up and do more.

His remarks echo those of Police Chief Kenny Winslow, who issued a statement Thursday saying that parents need to be more “engaged” with their kids and keep better tabs on what they’re doing and who they’re hanging out with.

Langfelder and Winslow also say it is incumbent on people who witness criminal behavior to come forward and report it… they say that was the key to solving Wednesday’s murder of Andre Booker the Third at Comer Cox Park.
