Governor Bruce Rauner is being sued by a former business partner… but the details of the lawsuit remain under wraps.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Rauner and the plaintiff, Kip Kirkpatrick, were both investors in a Michigan mortgage company. Kirkpatrick filed the lawsuit under seal… saying that he didn’t want to risk violating a confidentiality agreement with Rauner.
But now he’s asking the court to unseal the records and rule that the confidentiality provision does not apply to the lawsuit. A hearing is set for next week.
