Ives Calls for Release of Pending Ethics Complaints

Governor Bruce Rauner’s Republican challenger is calling on the new interim legislative inspector general to immediately release information about pending ethics complaints against lawmakers and staffers.

Representative Jeanne  Ives says the names of victims should be redacted, but contends people have the right to know which officials are being accused of sexual harassment or other offenses… even though those claims have not been investigated.

Lawmakers acted over the weekend to name a former assistant U.S. attorney to that post to clear a backlog of more than two dozen dormant complaints.
