The two biggest beer brewers have agreed to become one with the combined company becoming the biggest beer manufacturer in the world with nine of the world’s top 20 beers in volume.
Anheuser-Busch InBev will purchase SABMiller for $104 billion, thus creating a super-brewery with over $55 billion in sales.
While the deal is still not complete, as it needs to be agreed upon by regulators – SABMiller board members have indicated they will recommend the offer to shareholders.
If the deal is passed, it will be the biggest beer deal in history & among the top five acquisitions of all time. If the deal falls apart, AB InBev will pay a $3 billion penalty to SABMiller.
