Scientists are set to begin testing freeze-dried pills which contain fecal matter of healthy and lean donors, in an attempt to tackle obesity.
Volunteers will be taking part in the study, where each will be receiving capsules that include several grams of stool from ‘slim’ donors.
The pills will be consumed each week for six weeks with the participants not making any changes to their normal diet or exercise habits.
Health & weight records will be measured at three, six and 12 months, with the potential to continue further, depending on the success of the trial.
The experiment was already successful when tested on mice.
