A Starbucks customer in Florida is a little steamed after a note on his morning coffee unexpectedly hit a bit of a personal nerve.
The unidentified man was about to take a sip of his grande white mocha from a St. Augustine Starbucks, when he noticed where a customers’ name would be printed on the cup were the words, “Diabetes Here I Come.”
While Starbucks’ baristas are known for misspelling customers’ names or writing funny words, this message hit close to home for the customer, who told Action News Jax that two of his sister suffer from Type 1 Diabetes.

“That first word just automatically brought the picture of both sisters in my head, and I was taken aback. Just the struggles they went through and all the doctor appointments they had.”
Representatives for Starbucks reached out to the man & apologized for the insensitive comment. The man didn’t order the drink inside the store, rather had a co-worker pick up his order. He did return the drink though with a message written on the side of the cup.
