Nasa says we are wobbling on our axis, with a sharp turn to the east. But humankind is in no danger.
A Nasa study released published in Science Advances, researched how the weight of the melting polar ice caps were causing the earth to shift. The study says the around the year 2000, the Earth started spinning abruptly toward the east and that spinning has gotten twice as fast, almost 7 inches more east a year.
One of the study’s co-authors, Erik Ivans, wants to calm your nerves. He says that while it’s all a fascinating phenomenon, the wobbling of the Earth will not affect our life.
