Straight out of the Jetsons, a California startup company called “FoldiMate” is selling a robot that can fold, press and perfume your clothes for you.
The robot is expected to cost between $700 to $850, and is able to fold laundry twice as fast as the average human can. It can also “de-wrinkle” pants and dress shirts with steam and it “perfumes” them as it goes.
As of 7:20 this morning, nearly 67,121 people have registered to be notified when pre-orders for the robot begin… in 2017! That’s not the number of pre-orders… just the number of people who want to know when the pre-orders will begin.
The company says it will start taking pre-orders next year and expects the first robots to be shipped in 2018.
