The coffee-making giant has finally released its 2016 holiday cups known simply as ‘The Red Cup’, following last year’s big controversy, where the ‘Christmas’ had been removed from the cups.
This year, Starbucks has released not just one ‘Red Cup’ design but 13 festive cup designs. They include images of Christmas trees, Santa Claus, candy canes, snowflakes, reindeer, wreaths, sleigh rides and even ugly Christmas sweaters.
The cups were designed by Starbucks customers, who were invited by the company to share their ideas on social media. The winning 13 designs represent 6 countries and many different social backgrounds – from a college student in Germany to a hairstylist in Philadelphia.
