Can you imagine making a video that goes viral and in doing so gets one of your parents fired from their job?
That’s exactly what happened to Brooke Peterson, whose father was an engineer for Apple.
During a visit with her parents, Brooke visited the Apple Campus and filmed her father’s brand new iPhone X and uploaded the video to YouTube. Apple management reached out to her after the video hit the internet and asked her to take it down, not before other users copied the video and shared it more.
By then it was too late, Brooke’s father was let go from his job and according to Apple via Engadget:
“As an employee device, it had sensitive information like codenames for unreleased products and staff-specific QR codes.”
Brooke says she is not upset at Apple and will continue to buy their products. She says that rules are rules and her father takes full responsibility for his actions, letting his daughter film his phone.
