NASCAR officials announced on Monday that they would be suspending Jason Burdett, crew chief for XFINITY championship contender and local boy Justin Allgaier, for the final race of the season.
The suspension, stemming from a L1 infraction which occurred at last weekend’s Phoenix Speedway also carries a $10,000 fine and docking the team 10 driver and owner points. The point penalty will not knock Allgaier out of Saturday’s championship round in Homestead-Miami.
Allgaier’s team, JR Motorsports will not appeal the penalty.
