Let’s start by saying, the album title Life Changes was a pretty good fit for the tracks included on this 21 song double CD set!
Let’s start with the title tracks: Life Changes — which is included twice in this album. Run time is the same on both tracks. I couldn’t really tell any difference between the two tracks. You will be able to sing along to that one, as well as some other songs such as: Marry Me, Unforgettable and Craving You (w/Maren Morris) due to previous airplay.
Next, I want to categorize the songs by age themes. There are a couple with youthful themes. The song Sixteen is about going back to being 16 years old and hanging out and seeing where goes. Renegades is about a boy and a girl who meet and fall in love.
Then let’s get a little older, 20s and 30s, Leave Right Now, Cardboard Hearts, Smooth Like Summer, Gateway Love, When You Look Like That and Leave Right Now. The last title has three different versions, hip hop , country and radio edit. The difference between the three edits were tempo and I didn’t care for any of them. In this theme category the titles say it all!
Then, there are songs when you’re married and happy such as; Sweetheart and Kiss Me Like a Stranger.
Living and loving forever such as; Grave and When We’re 80. Both of which, I really liked because it gave me hope for happiness.
I left the best for last, Drink a Little Beer. I think it is an overall universal theme. But my favorite part is that his father, Rhett Akins sings along with him in this good ole boys song. Rhett refers to Thomas as son and you can just tell that they are having a blast which sends great vibes through the radio! I Look for this to be at the top of the charts sometime! I definitely recommend Thomas Rhett’s Life Changes Deluxe!
