Do you need a long gown, dress, dressy outfit, a handbag with bling or comfy shoes that sparkle this holiday season?
You have come to the right place. I attended the glamours Festival of Trees Gala in a long, lace off-white gown that I purchased at Macy’s. The original price was $180. It was marked down to $77. Macy’s sale of the season took an additional 50% off! I ended up paying $38.50. Yes, I have the receipt to prove it. So, when you go shopping for that special outfit, check out the sales racks. If items are in a store too long, they get their first round of discounts. From there, items keep getting discounted until they find a buyer. If I have my eye on something that is discounted, sometimes, I ask a store employee how often make downs occur and what day of the week? Also, check out both the juniors and ladies sections of the store. Around this time of year, the junior section will have homecoming/prom dresses that didn’t sell…super cheap.
You can also head to local resale shops. The Clothing Rack, Second Time Around, The Clothing Mentor and even The Salvation Army and Goodwill Stores have formal sections. Almost all resale shops carry a dressy section. They give discounts off of the tag price too. They are also a great place to find that clutch or heels to match. Facebook Marketplace is also a wonderful place to pick up something for that special holiday occasion. A lot of times, these items have only been worn once or twice and resold for a fraction of the original price.
One more thing, allow yourself enough time to shop around. You may need to look at several different places to complete your outfit. Happy Shopping.
